Go on a virtual tour with these pictures of Barcelona. The city has a rich historical and cultural heritage. The city was founded as a Roman city. The Roman underground ruins are displayed at the Barcelona City History Museum. The city is famous for the architectural works of Antoni Gaudí. A lot of the buildings are listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. Popular places created by Gaudí are La Sagrada Familia, Casa Milà, Casa Batlló, Gaudí House Museum and Park Güell.

You can easily spend a few days in Barcelona and see other sites like the castle of Montjuïc, the Cathedral of Barcelona or you can go for stroll at the Gothic Quarter, the old city centre of Barcelona. In this neighbourhood you can admire many medieval landmarks and the remains of the old Roman walls. The Barri Gòtic is a labyrinth of small streets. Despite the name, many gothic landmarks and buildings are not built in the Middle Ages. In the late 19th century and early 20th century the area is reconstructed for tourist purposes. It’s a great area to wander around in and get lost. There are many squares and secrets spots to discover.
