In 2017 I went for a 12- day trekking in the Annapurna Himalayas. It was an unforgettable Nepalese-Tibetan trek through the mountain ranges of the Himalayas. There are two long trekking’s in this area. The one I did was the Annapurna Circuit. The hiking trail goes through several river valleys. The trail reaches the highest point at 5416 meters at the Thorang La Pass.
About Annapurna
The Annapurna Circuit is the best long-distance trek in the world. It varies in climate zones from tropic temperatures at 700 meters to an artic climate at 5416 meters. Along the trek you see a cultural variety of Hindu villages at the start and Nepalese- Tibetan villages in and around the Manang Valley.
The trek takes around 12 to 16 days, depending how fast you and your group members are. The trail is a moderate level. Some parts a challenging. The last day is the most difficult one. It’s a steep climb to the Thorang La Pass. In my experience anyway.
But it’s also the most rewarding day. The views are breath-taking and you made it to the top. Afterwards you are rewarded with a fast descent. During the trek you have to cross several rivers over steel and wooden suspensions bridges. Along the way are many teashops, guesthouses and restaurants.

I didn’t know there are tea plantations so high in the
mountains.
It’s amazing to go hiking there. I can highly recommend it. Tea plants need a cooler climate so that is why you see them in the mountains.
